Alfa Romeo GT was revealed during the 2003 Geneva Motor Show and officially on sale in Italian market in 2004. GT is a compact and classy sport car designed by the Bertone Style Centre and Alfa Romeo Style Centre. The distinctive feature begins at the front with the Alfa shield between the wraparound lights. The car has flowing lines that gives it a sleek look and underneath, it has the space of a saloon. The design was based on 156 saloon car and most of the mechanicals were also based on 156. The all-new GT design blends in elegance, comfort and space. The interior is fitted with dual-zone climate control, CD/MP3 player, Cruise Control, onboard info-telematic system, steering-wheel radio and telephone control, and multi-function display. Besides that, GT also has another added feature which is the hands-free device. Even though GT is a sport car, GT offers spacious luggage compartment. Among other unique features are the combination of instrumentation and racing design and a satin-finish dashboard. GT is available in three different trim levels that are Progression, Distinctive and Q2. Drivers can enjoy maximum driving experience with GT as the control of GT was derived from Formula 1. The maximum safety and control feature includes high wishbone front suspension, McPherson system that ensures stability at high speeds. The car comes together with ABS and EBD brake force distribution, VDC system to dominate the road, ASR that prevents wheel slip and also MSR to avoid skidding. The car is also fully equipped with other features such as Fire Prevention System, energy absorbing interior trim and also standard six airbags, including window airbags. GT uses less fuel that gives the driver maximum driving pleasure. GT is available in a few different engine ranges. It includes 1.8 TS 140 bhp with 5-speed gearbox, 2.0 JTS 165 bhp with Selespeed gearbox and steering wheel controls, 1.9 JTDM 16V 150 bhp, and 1.8 TS also with 5-speed gearbox.
